The Mercator _ Low Energy Consumption Social Housing Homes_ BBC & Concerto, QE

In the context of an urban project conceived by Atelier Ile de Nantes and architect Alexandre Chemetoff, the design and construction of a social housing building for the SNI group, France’s largest social landlord. The aim is to reconcile energy performance and economy, despite the difficulty posed by a    basement with deep foundations. The solution we propose is very simple forms and materials at the service of homes that all benefit from windows facing in at least two directions, and a living room facing south.

Parole d'habitants : "L’isolation de ce bâtiment basse consommation est étonnante, il fait – 2°C dehors et il fait bon chez moi, même sans chauffage !". Un étage plus bas, N’deye Niang ajoute que ce confort thermique se double d’un confort acoustique non négligeable : "je n’entends absolument aucun son en provenance des voisins ou des parties communes". Pour cette habitante en fauteuil roulant, c’est surtout l’accessibilité qui est appréciable : "je n’ai aucun souci avec les portes et il y a plein de détails importants pour moi dans cet appartement comme la hauteur des prises ou du visiophone, qui me simplifient la vie."
