La Famille Le Lous, propriétaire d’URGO, est propriétaire depuis décembre 2019 du Château Cantenac Brown, troisième Grand Cru Classé 1855, au cœur de l’appellation Margaux. Tristan Le Lous (40 ans, ingénieur agronome), avec le directeur de la propriété José Sanfins, dirige la réalisation d’un nouveau chai avec cuvier et halle de vendanges.

Le projet prend la forme d’une grande serre habitée ; elle répond aux conditions climatiques particulières du vallon plus dures qu’alentour, unifie et organise l’architecture
du conservatoire.

This 1,400 m3 water tower is designed like a building in order for it to blend in with the urban context due to be built around it. A sustainable design, it doesn’t use a pump and its maintenance is kept to a bare minimum by the use of raw concrete, galvanised steel and a flower meadow. It’s height and lowest point are determined by the water pressure of the network that fills it, and by the effect of gravity used to empty it without losing any pressure. This system also allows water distribution to continue when electricity is cut. It is only lit up for visibility at dawn.

A multimedia library is installed in a former 18th century farmhouse. Directly opposite is a long, low building, a former pigsty, converted into a showroom. The troughs are preserved. This conversion was the opportunity to install the 1% of art obligatory in all French public buildings: a sculpture by Roger Joncourt.

On the edge of the ring road at the Porte de Bagnolet exit, between a 1950s housing estate and a stadium, the Serpollet Industrial Hotel echoes these spatial and historical conditions.
